Asrol | اسرول

Asrol , chandan khurd ,choti chandan, اسرول، چندن خورد or  Rauvolfia serpentina, the Indian snakeroot, devil pepper, or serpentine wood, is a species of flower belonging to the milkweed family Apocynaceae. It is native to the South and East Asia. \n

Medicinal uses:

\nPhysicians used Indian snakeroot traditionally  in medicine for hypertension and mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and anxiety. It alleviates symptoms like hallucinations, delusions, and mood disturbances. The phytochemical "reserpine" present in Indian snakeroot is the same as a prescription drug. Typically, people use this drug  to treat high blood pressure, schizophrenia, and some symptoms of poor circulation. It contains chemicals such as reserpine, which is a prescription medicine for high blood pressure. In addition to its antihypertensive effects, it has cardioprotective properties. \n \nAsrol has sedative and anxiolytic effects, making it useful for managing anxiety, stress, and insomnia. It possesses anticonvulsant properties. Some studies suggest that it exhibits anti-inflammatory effects, which can help reduce inflammation. Additionally, this herb possesses mild analgesic (pain-relieving) effects, which can help alleviate minor aches and pains.
